Description: Organize and administers individualized age specific professional care to patients within the Labor and Delivery Department in support of medical care. Provides nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the State Nurse Practice Act. Maintains the standards of nursing care as established. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Quality Improvement evaluation activities. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment. Requirements: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Current New Jersey R.N. license. Current Labor and Delivery experience required. Maintains required BLS Health Care Provider course completion status. |
