Description: The Audit Analyst assists the Director in the accounting for all government claim recovery activities. This position is responsible for timely and accurate release of Recovery Audit Contractor requested patient medical information, proper documentation, tracking and following up of requests for information, and timely coordination of appeals and associated deadlines. The Audit Analyst will also oversee invoicing for the release of information invoices and monitor payments, aid in the formulation of reports for Senior Management and the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) Response Committee and is responsible for the overall maintenance of and integrity of the data in the RAC Tracking Software system. Requirements: - Knowledge of Federal, State, and Hospital regulations of the completeness of medical record information and/or revenue cycle - Experience with OIG, CMC or Medicare Fiscal Intermediary audits preferred - Completion of courses in medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology and disease process, pharmacology and pathology - Knowledge of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs)/ICD-9CM and CPT preferred - High School graduate - Accuracy in detailed work - Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills required - Must maintain a professional demeanor - Must display a proven analytical capability and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision |
