Description: The role of the Professional Registered Nurse is to provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff and within the guidelines of the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act. It is the responsibility of the Professional Nurse to implement the Hospital's mission and goals through established policies, procedures, and performance improvement activities. Implementation of these goals occurs through organization and administration of individualized age-specific professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital. The understanding of the principals of growth and development will be incorporated to assess each patient's age-specific needs and determine age-specific treatment modalities. The Role of the Ambulatory Care RN will consist of organizing and administering individualized age specific professional care to patients within the Ambulatory Care/Outpatient setting. Provide nursing care as directed by the Medical Staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the State Nurse Practice Act, participate in patient teaching, discharge planning, department performance inprovement evaluation activities. In conjunction with the Nurse Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the primary care and specialty care services. Requirements: Current NJ RN license Current BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider Previous experience in Acute Care setting required Minimum one (1) year experience in community health, ambulatory/outpatient care experience required IV/Venipuncture certification preferred Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills required Excellent verbal and written communication required Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility required |
